Riding to Tasmania
March 2027

The Long Ride Australia is more than a motorcycle tour, it's a life-changing adventure with a purpose. Raising vital funds and awareness for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia, it brings together riders from across the country who quickly become friends, united by a shared love of the open road and a desire to make a difference.

In March 2027, riders from every state and territory will set out on their own journeys before converging in Tasmania for an unforgettable tour of the Apple Isle. Together, they'll experience spectacular roads, iconic landscapes and the unique camaraderie that has become the hallmark of The Long Ride.

In 2025, participants raised more than $200,000 to support prostate cancer research and support services. In 2027, we're aiming even higher—and we'd love you to be part of the journey.

On this ride, we remember all those that have passed, and those that cannot ride, who are forever in our hearts.

About The Long Ride

The Long Ride was founded in 2004 by Chris and Gail Dunne as Chris approached retirement from the Royal Australian Air Force. Passionate about making a difference, they turned their love of motorcycling into a mission to spark life-saving conversations about prostate cancer.

What began as a single charity ride has grown into a nationwide movement. Over the past two decades, Chris and Gail have raised more than $2.5 million for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia, inspired thousands of Australians to talk to their GP about PSA testing, and built a close-knit community united by mateship, purpose and the desire to save lives.

A ride with strong veteran support

With a veteran at its heart, The Long Ride has always enjoyed strong support from the Australian Defence community. Around half of all participants are current or former serving members of the Australian Defence Force, drawn by the shared values of mateship, service and looking after one another.

Find your ‘why’

Experience the freedom of the open road, the camaraderie of riding with like-minded people, and the satisfaction of making a genuine difference.

The Long Ride is more than a motorcycle tour. It's a chance to challenge yourself, forge lifelong friendships and be part of something bigger. Riders join to support the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia, raising vital funds and awareness while changing lives – including their own.

Ask anyone who's taken part and they'll tell you the same thing: the ride stays with you long after the kilometres are behind you. Along the way, you discover you're not alone. The conversations, shared experiences and sense of mateship have a way of putting life's challenges into perspective.

Each day brings new roads, spectacular scenery and welcoming country towns. Each night, you'll pull into a new destination with stories to share and friendships that continue to grow. This is life on the road – an unforgettable adventure with a purpose.

Fundraising for prostate cancer

Every dollar raised through The Long Ride goes directly to the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia helping fund world-class research, specialist nursing services, and vital support programs for Australian men and their families affected by prostate cancer.

Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australian men. More than 25,000 men are diagnosed every year, and tragically, 10 Australians lose their lives to the disease every day.

To maximise the impact of the event, each rider is encouraged to raise a minimum of $1,000 through donations or sponsorship.
