Join Us in Canberra: Commemorating 80 Years Since the End of WWII
On Friday, August 15, 2025, Australia will mark 80 years since the end of the Second World War. To honour this pivotal moment in our nation's history, a special Last Post Ceremony will be held at the Australian War Memorial in Canberra.
The Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) are inviting veterans of the Second World War to express their interest in travelling to Canberra to attend the Last Post Ceremony.
Commemorative Ceremony Details
The Last Post Ceremony will commence at 4:30 PM on Victory in the Pacific Day, August 15, 2025, at the Australian War Memorial. This ceremony will be a deeply moving tribute to the extraordinary courage and sacrifice of the men and women who served in World War II, with special elements incorporated to reflect the immense significance of this 80th anniversary.
Those who cannot attend in person will be able to watch the livestream of the event on the Australian War Memorial’s YouTube channel.
