MEDIA RELEASE

The Returned & Services League of Australia (RSL) is pleased to announce that veteran, former Australian Defence Force member and RSL ambassador Pete Rudland will represent the organisation and act as its primary spokesperson at the upcoming first hearings of the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide in Brisbane.

As national ambassador, Pete will attend the Ceremonial Hearing of the Royal Commission in Brisbane on behalf of RSL Australia.

Pete has nearly three decades of experience in the Australian infantry and served in 3RAR, 4RAR, The Parachute Training School, SASR and 2CDO Regiment, bringing a deep understanding of the needs of veterans. Pete is also a qualified counsellor and specialises in post-traumatic stress.

Pete is a passionate advocate for veterans and their families, bringing his lived experience from his time deployed in Cambodia as part of UNTAC in 1993, the Iraq bombing campaign in 1997 with SASR, East Timor in 2001 as part of the 4RAR (CDO) deployment, Iraq in 2003 as part of an exchange with British forces, Timor Leste in 2006 with 4RAR (CDO) and Afghanistan in 2010 as part of ACOY 2CDO.
